Tour to St. Petersburg
Friday–Sunday, 28–30 May 2010
Departure from Lappeenranta on Friday, 28 May by bus. Arrival back in Lappeenranta on Sunday, 30 May.
The bus trip from Lappeenranta to St. Petersburg takes some 6-7 hours. Lunch on the way or at the hotel in St. Petersburg. You will stay at Hotel Dostoevsky, www.dostoevsky-hotel.ru
. Evening free.
After breakfast, a guided city tour will introduce you to St. Petersburg. During the tour, you will see all of the major tourist attractions in the city. Lunch will be served at a downtown restaurant. Lunch will be followed by a guided tour of the Hermitage museum, one of the largest museums in the world, comprising five palaces which were the residence of past Russian emperors.
After breakfast hydrofoil will bring you to Peterhof accurately referred to as the “Russian Versailles”. A guided tour will take you through the Great Palace and park. The Great Palace was built between 1709 and 1724 under the directions of Peter the Great. You will have lunch there or on the way. Departure by bus from Peterhof back to Finland. Arrival in Lappeenranta approx. at 8–9 pm.
A Finnish guide will accompany the guests during the trip. The guided tours will be arranged in English
The price of the tour is € 515/person. The price is subjected to changes.
The price includes:
- bus trips Lappeeranta-St. Petersburg-Lappeenranta. The bus is reserved for the group's use for the duration of the tour.
- double room for 2 nights, incl. breakfast
- guided city tour of St. Petersburg
- entrance fee to the Hermitage and guided tour on the premises
- an excursion to Peterhof by boat there and by bus back including entrance fee and guided tour on Grand Palace

Optional: Theatre tickets for instance to the Mariinsky, Mikhailovsky or Hermitage theatre (ballet or opera).

Please note that all participants are required to have entry visas to travel to the Russian Federation. The visa must be obtained from the consulate in your own country. The invitation letter required for the visa application will be issued by the tour organiser when the tour is confirmed. Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months after the visa expires. Check for the latest information on visa formalities at your nearest consulate. The cost of the visa is not included in the tour package price.
